Elements of Good Judgment in Leadership
‘Judgement’ refers to the ability to combine personal traits, applicable knowledge, and experience to form opinions and make decisions. This skill is at the core of successful leadership as there are often choices in managerial roles that need to be made in the absence of an obvious path. Great leaders are capable of interpreting the available information and evidence and taking direction towards the most effective outcome using their own judgement.

Leaders with good judgment listen to what their team members and colleagues have to say and recognise parallels that others may miss. They understand the value in the experiences of others and can prevent their own emotions and biases from affecting their decisions. Staying grounded and considering the implication and implementation of possible strategies is essential to benefitting your organisation and promoting long-term growth.
