Self-Awareness
“Self-awareness isn’t one truth. It’s a delicate balance of two distinct, even competing, viewpoints.” (Eurich,2018)

The system of Ripple enables immediate comparison of measured behaviour of team members and managers for feedback and coaching as determined by organizational sponsors to fully evaluate the participant’s development needs.
“Research suggests that when we see ourselves clearly, we are more confident and more creative. We make sounder decisions, build stronger relationships, and communicate more effectively. “ (Eurich, 2018)
Ripple is customised and circulated to mobile devices of managers and team members simultaneously for quick completion. This makes bridging the gap of expectation between managers and team members easy and convenient. Once data is obtained, this enables progression towards the discussion and coaching phase.
According to Eurich, asking ‘why’ questions such as ‘why did I get a bad rating?’ would probably land an explanation focused on their shortcomings thus inviting unproductive negative thoughts. Instead, we should ask ‘what’ questions such as “What are the steps I need to take in the future to do a better job?” It helps team members move to solutions and find out how they learn more effectively. This also helps us stay objective, future-focused, and empowered to act on our new insights.
“Leaders who focus on building both internal and external self-awareness, who seek honest feedback from loving critics, and who ask what instead of why can learn to see themselves more clearly — and reap the many rewards that increased self-knowledge delivers. No matter how much progress we make, there’s always more to learn. That’s one of the things that makes the journey to self-awareness so exciting.” (Eurich, 2018)
